According to the latest media reports by Land Transport Authority (LTA) and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), the High Speed Rail Terminal Station will be located at Jurong Country Club.

The news comes at the latest speculation on the previous week that the most probable site for the location of the train station could be in Jurong West or Jurong West but speculations emerged that the relevant authorities might be more inclined to the Jurong East site as it is in line with the Master Plan’s vision for turning Jurong East into a second Central Business District and that the location of the train station right beside the CBD area will enhance the visibility to serve many of the corporate institutions that are coming into Singapore.

The exact site will be located at Jurong Country Club and the land lease will be handed over back to the government in November 2016 even though the land expiry is due only in 2035. Latest media reports also indicate that the land will be intensively redeveloped with new mixed used developments as well as many other community facilities to serve Jurong Residents.
